Scott MATTHEWS

Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering & Engineering and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University

Scott Matthews is a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA.   There, he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in his departments as well as in Economics, and Computer Science.  He has a BS degree in Computer Engineering and MS and PhD in Economics, all from Carnegie Mellon University.

His work intends to facilitate policy-relevant decision support under uncertainty via incorporation of large datasets, information and communication technologies, and visualization methods. His recently past work developed tools for assisting government agencies with sustainable procurement processes, and tracking environmental effects across global supply chains (such as carbon footprinting).
