Breakfast debate on June, 13th 2019

Water management is at the crossroads of many issues: public health, public safety, urban and regional planning, biodiversity, climate change, agricultural development, energy optimisation, etc. It involves a multitude of public decision-makers, administrative bodies and private users. In many European countries, the model of a water regulator has gradually become established. France, on the other hand, retains an original organisation, escaping the centralisation that traditionally characterises its management of public action. What is the relevance of this French model and how might it evolve?

This document summarises the presentations and discussions that took place at the breakfast on "Water regulation" organised by the Governance and Regulation Chair on 13 June 2019.
