Tony Prosser

Tony Prosser is Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of Bristol, UK. He was Professor of Public Law from 2002-2022, having previously been John Millar Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow and having taught at the Universities of Hull and of Sheffield. He was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute, Florence and has been Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, Bruges, as well as at a number of universities in France and Italy. He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2014.
Tony Prosser has written extensively in the area of public law and regulation, in particular regulation of public utilities and public service. His most recent book is ‘The Economic Constitution’ (Oxford University Press, 2014). He is also interested in constitutional law and law and social theory.
