Marcello Puca is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Bergamo and a research fellow at the Centre for Studies in Economics and Finance, both based in Italy. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Naples Federico II. His academic background includes degrees in quantitative economics from the Toulouse School of Economics. Dr. Puca has held various research and teaching positions in Europe and the U.S., including a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, and visiting research roles at the
University of Arizona. His research delves into themes within political economy, such as the economics of voting rules, the socio-economic impacts of natural disasters, civic capital and public health, and the influence of religious beliefs on gender disparities.
