Johannes Buggle is a tenure-track assistant professor of economics at the University of Innsbruck. He obtained his PhD from Sciences Po, Paris. He has held visiting positions at UC Berkeley and Brown University. His research covers topics in economic history and political economy and has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, and Journal of Economic Growth.
