Executive Director, Mexican National Agency for Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection of the Hydrocarbons Sector |
On August 19th, 2014, President Enrique Peña Nieto appointed him as the first Executive Director of the National Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment of Mexico (ASEA), in charge of the industrial safety and environmental protection of the hydrocarbon sector.
Carlos de Regules holds a Bachelor’s Degree on Chemical Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), and a Master’s Degree on Engineering and Environmental Management from the École des Mines of Paris, France. He followed studies on Public Administration at the National Institute of Public Administration of Mexico (INAP), and is an associate to the LEAD Program for Advanced Studies on Environment and Development of the College of Mexico (COLMEX).
Throughout his eighteen years career at the Mexican Petroleum Company (PEMEX), he specialized on industrial safety and environmental protection of the oil industry. On his last post at the company he served as Deputy Director of Strategic and Operational Planning, position in which he bolstered among other themes the PEMEX’s sustainable development policy and the social responsibility annual report.
