Benoit COEURÉ

In 2024, he was appointed Chair of the OECD Competition Committee by the Committee members.
Between 2020 and 2022, Benoît Coeuré headed the BIS Innovation Hub and was a member of its Executive Board. Prior to that, he was a member of the ECB's Executive Board from 2012 to 2019 and chaired the BIS Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures from 2013 to 2020.
Before joining the ECB, he held various positions at the French Treasury and the French Debt Management Office. In particular, he was Deputy Director General and Chief Economist of the French Treasury from 2009 to 2011.
Mr Coeuré is a graduate of the École Polytechnique in Paris. He holds a postgraduate degree in statistics and economic policy from the École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Économique (ENSAE) and a bachelor’s degree in Japanese.
He is the author of several articles and books on economic policy, the international monetary system and the economics of European integration.
