Artificial Intelligence, Algorithmic Recommendations and Competition
based on a paper by Emilio Calvano, Giacomo Calzolari, Vincenzo Denicolò and Sergio Pastorello
We've developed a method to study how recommendation systems, which are algorithms that we all use on a daily basis to choose what to buy, listen or watch online, influence competition in the marketplace. This research addresses concerns expressed by both academics and policymakers about whether these systems might harm competition.
