Until recently, Xavier Vamparys was responsible for the ethics of artificial intelligence at CNP Assurances.
Xavier Vamparys is a graduate of ESSEC business school and holds a Master's degree in law from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, an Executive MBA (CHEA) from Université Paris Dauphine, a Juris doctor from Columbia Law School and a Data science starter programme certificate from Ecole Polytechnique Executive Education.
He began his career in 1999 as a lawyer at the Paris and New York bars, working for Shearman & Sterling. In 2006, he became head of legal affairs at Oddo Corporate Finance. In 2007, he joined BNP Paribas as a senior lawyer.
In 2011, he joined CNP Assurances, where he was successively Head of International Legal and, from 2016, Head of Corporate Legal. In December 2018, he was appointed project manager for artificial intelligence, a position he will hold until November 2019. Until April 2020, he will be on a skills-sharing mission with the startup DreamQuark, which specialises in AI for the financial sector.
He is the author of the book "La Blockchain au service de la finance - cadre juridique et applications pratiques", published in October 2018. He is a visiting researcher at Télécom Paris in the "Operational AI ethics" laboratory and has published around 50 articles in legal or financial journals.
