Geopolitical tensions, the climate crisis, technological disruptions and rising economic rivalries… Europe must now learn to navigate an uncertain environment. In this context, regulation becomes a key tool: not to stifle, but to organise competition, protect the common good and ensure a level playing field between public and private actors, both European and global. How can we protect our industries whilst remaining open to trade? How can we regulate the digital sector without stifling innovation? How can we ensure the green transition without widening inequalities? These are all challenges that test Europe’s ability to remain a major power and defend its model in a world marked by uncertainty.
