Expert in competition law and economic governance, as well as in civil liability, in both the civil law and common law traditions, Pierre Larouche is a full professor of law and innovation at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Law and vice-dean of programmes. Professor Larouche is affiliated with the CDACI. He directs the "Innovation, science, technology and law" doctoral option launched in autumn 2017 by the Faculty.

A graduate of the law faculties of McGill, Bonn and Maastricht universities, Mr. Larouche has been a full professor of competition law at Tilburg University in the Netherlands since 2002, where he co-founded the Tilburg Law and Economics Center (TILEC), which has become one of the world's leading research centres in the field of economic governance. During his academic career in Europe, Mr Larouche also designed and launched an innovative undergraduate programme, the Bachelor Global Law, at Tilburg University. He has also taught at the College of Europe in Bruges and has been a visiting professor at numerous universities in America (Northwestern, Pennsylvania), Europe (Sciences Po, Bonn) and Asia (Singapore).

Pr Larouche has published more than sixty monographs, articles and scientific contributions, and his work, cited by the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, has influenced the European Commission's policies on electronic communications and competition. 

In addition to having practised law in private practice, he was a law clerk to the Honourable Charles D. Gonthier at the Supreme Court of Canada.
