Arthur M. Langer is a globally recognized authority in AI and digital transformation, and next-generation technology strategy, with more than four decades of experience spanning academia, enterprise consulting, public sector advisory, and nonprofit leadership. He is widely known for helping senior executives and boards translate complex digital transformation and cybersecurity risks into actionable business and governance strategies.
Dr. Langer is the Director for the Center for Strategic Learning, and Leadership for the Digital Age at the JM Huber Institute at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Education (Teachers College). He also holds an appointment as Professor of Practice in the Department of Organization and Leadership. Dr. Langer formally served as Associate Vice Provost and Director of the Center for Technology Management & Digital Leadership at Northeastern University, where was also a Professor of the Practice at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. He previously held senior leadership roles at Columbia University, including Professor of Professional Practice, Academic Director of Technology Management Programs, and Director of Columbia’s Center for Technology Management. Across these roles, he has been instrumental in shaping executive education focused on cybersecurity, AI risk, cloud strategy, and digital resilience

Dr. Langer is the author of more than a dozen influential books, including Analysis and Design of Next-Generation Software Architectures: Generative AI, Cyber Security, and the Cloud (2nd Ed) and Information Technology & Organizational Learning: Managing Behavioral Change in the Digital Age (4th Ed) which are frequently used by senior leaders to align AI, digital transformation, and cybersecurity with enterprise strategy. He has numerous published peer-reviewed research on AI, cybersecurity leadership, digital risk, organizational resilience, and regularly contributes to executive and industry media.
In addition to his academic leadership, Dr. Langer is the Founder and Chairman of Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS), an international nonprofit organization (NGO) dedicated to building diverse, cyber-ready and technology-enabled talent pipelines for global enterprises from local communities. His work at WOS integrates AI, cybersecurity awareness, ethical technology use, and workforce readiness into scalable talent models that support both economic mobility and organizational security.
Dr. Langer has served on multiple public, private and nonprofit boards, advised multinational organizations on AI, cybersecurity strategy and digital risk oversight, and is a frequent speaker at executive forums worldwide. He holds a Doctorate from Columbia University, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, grounding his leadership in both technical depth and organizational insight.
