Michael Kamp is Professor of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at TU Dortmund University and a faculty member of the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. His research focuses on the theoretical foundations of deep learning, causal representation learning, and trustworthy AI, with particular interests in privacy-preserving and federated learning. A major focus of his work is the development of reliable AI methods for healthcare and medicine, bridging methodological research with the requirements of real-world clinical applications. He is also affiliated with the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (IKIM) at University Medicine Essen, where he previously led the Trustworthy Machine Learning research group.
