Joseph Dellatte

Joseph Dellatte joined the Institut Montaigne in 2022 as a Climate, Energy and Environment Research Fellow in the Asia programme. He is also a research associate at Kyoto University (Japan) and a member of the Japanese Research Group on Renewable Energy Economics. His research interests include the international governance of climate policies, carbon pricing, industrial decarbonisation policies, financing the ecological transition and climate relations between Europe and Asia.
Joseph Dellatte spent 6 years in Kyoto. He holds a doctorate and a master's degree in economics and environmental policy from Kyoto University (2016-2021). He also holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy and literature (2008-2011) and a master's degree in history and international relations from the University of Liège (2011-2013).
He was a Belgian youth delegate at the United Nations headquarters in New York (2014-2015). He contributed on behalf of Belgium to discussions on the UN Sustainable Development Goals agenda, on climate change and intergenerational equity, and on the rights of young people from sexual and gender minorities. He was also Belgium's delegate to the European Youth Forum (2014-2015) and policy officer on youth issues in Brussels.
