An engineer by training (ISEP), Yann Bonnet began his career as a consultant. He joined the Conseil national du numérique in March 2013 as general rapporteur. In 2015, he became Secretary General. Convinced that digital technology is at the root of a profound change in society, Yann Bonnet is particularly interested in open government initiatives and innovation in all its forms.
He was in charge of steering the national consultation on digital launched by the Prime Minister in October 2014. This initiative aims to feed into the construction of France's digital strategy at national, European and international level. One of the results of this initiative was the Digital Republic Act, sponsored by Axelle Lemaire. Yann Bonnet also steered the drafting of reports on taxation in the digital age (2013), the digital component of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations between the United States and the European Union (2014), the fight against terrorism and the draft law on intelligence (2014/2015). Yann Bonnet is also a volunteer member of the CSA Lab.
