Gorkem Celik is a Professor of Economics at ESSEC Business School and a member of ThEMA Research Center. He teaches microeconomics and game theory in the Grande Ecole and the PhD programs. Prior to joining ESSEC and ThEMA, he received his PhD from Northwestern University and worked as a faculty member at the University of British Columbia. Gorkem uses game theory to understand how people react to different rules under different information structures. His research explores the types of economic institutions and mechanisms needed to achieve specific objectives. Gorkem’s earlier work has been supported by the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Council of Canada and the European Commission through a Marie Curie Reintegration Grant. He publishes in academic journals including International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, and RAND Journal of Economics.
