The regulation of platforms and their data does not meet with unanimous approval and poses many difficulties. Yet platforms affect a growing number of sectors, from the media to electricity. Even in sectors where they play a marginal role, such as transport, platforms could 'disrupt' certain markets and significantly affect the economy and business models of regulated operators. Do we need one or more platform regulators? And to whom should this role be entrusted? Many complex questions have been raised, and they are far from being settled or even clearly posed. The debates are institutional, analytical and legal.
