This event is in French.
The combined effects of growing pressure on resources, ageing networks and climate change are calling into question the sustainability of the current water model in France. Long polarised around the public/private debate, the sector has done little to explore the central issue of its regulation, even though many questions remain unanswered:
- What are the objectives of water regulation—user protection, territorial equity, investment security, resource preservation?
- What is the scope, given that the small and large cycles are increasingly intertwined?
- How can economic regulation be reconciled with the current governance of the sector?
To open this debate, the Governance and Regulation Chair invites you to a breakfast discussion featuring the perspectives of:
- Arnaud Bazire, Executive Vice-President of SUEZ
- Philippe Gouteyron, Water and Biodiversity Directorate, Ministries responsible for ecological transition, territorial cohesion, energy and the sea
- Stéphane Saussier, Co-Director of the Water Institute and Professor of Economics and Public Management at IAE Paris – Sorbonne Business School
The debate will be moderated by Angelos Souriadakis, Founder and Senior Partner, Kea Ylios.
