Senior Armaments Engineer General, Thomas Courbe began his career in 1995 at the French Ministry of Defence, where he was in charge of fighter aircraft programmes and then chief of staff to the director of aeronautical programmes. He joined the French Treasury in 2002, where he was successively deputy head of the Asia desk, head of the Africa-Maghreb desk, head of the aeronautical, military and naval affairs desk, secretary general of the Paris Club and deputy head of bilateral economic relations. In 2010, he was appointed Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade (Pierre Lellouche) and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ministers for the Economy, Finance and Industry (Christine Lagarde and then François Baroin). In 2012, he returned to the Treasury Department, where he was Secretary General, then Deputy Director General from 2015. Since August 2018, Thomas Courbe has been Director General of Enterprises. Thomas Courbe is an Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur and an Officer of the Ordre National du Mérite.
