Kurt R. Brekke is Professor at the Department of Economics at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) since 2009. He is also head of the Center for Business Economics (CBE) at NHH and a co-manager of the Bergen Center for Competition Law and Competition Economics (BECCLE). For the period 2016-2020, Brekke was Chief Economist at the Norwegian Competition Authority. Brekke has also been associate editor for the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization (2011-2016), member of the Governmental Committee on National Public Procurement Regulation (2012-2014), and is research fellow at the CESifo institute. His research interests are in the field of industrial organization with a particular focus on the markets for healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He has written several book chapters and research reports, and published extensively in international academic journals, including Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Regional Science & Urban Economics, European Economic Review, Scandinavian Journal of Economics.
